What happens when you reach 5 employees
Nothing is deleted and nobody loses access. You simply cannot add a sixth person until the limit moves, and everyone already in the workspace carries on exactly as before — clocking in, booking leave, filing expenses.
Raising it takes one message. There is no checkout to get through, no card to add, and no plan page that quietly upgrades you to something more expensive than you needed.
Why the free plan is not a crippled version
Most "free tiers" are a demo with the useful parts removed — no payroll, no reporting, a watermark on anything you export. HR FLARE's free plan is the whole product for five people, because a five-person company has the same HR problems as a fifty-person one, just fewer of them.
The limit is a headcount, not a feature list. That is a deliberate choice: it means you can evaluate HR FLARE properly, on your own real data, before anyone asks you for money.
A straight answer about payroll
HR FLARE keeps payroll records — gross, deductions, net, payslips and the documents that go with them — and makes them searchable, exportable and visible to the right people. It does not file payroll taxes or move money, so it sits alongside your payroll provider rather than replacing it.
We say this on the pricing page rather than in a footnote because finding it out during implementation is the kind of surprise that wastes a month.
